A light lunch

Bowl Cafe on Richmond

For all those people who like a light lunch, a salad or a sandwich. Freshly made, not reheated. Served with a smile but not with useless banter. A place to eat while checking emails but not a place for office gossip. A place you can slip into without driving for miles, but not a place everyone frequents. Half the fun comes from choosing what you want from a long list of ingredients.

Bowl, a place that is all that.

Holiday Memories

Holiday Inn Resort, Panama City Beach

We have all been there and we have all taken photographs. Long walks on the beach with the sun setting as the backdrop has to be the worst romantic cliche of all time. This particular one was clicked on our most recent holiday. Three bliss filled days at Panama City Beach, where the water is just right and the people in bikinis fat enough so you won't be intimidated.

Coming soon, #2 on the romantic cliches list. A picture of a night sky filled with stars.

Crossiants and a lesson in Feminism

On a recent trip to New Orleans (which I love love loved!) we followed guide books (yes, we are those people) and had breakfast at the Croissant D'Or Patisserie. A quaint, tiny cafe with a lovely display of pastries, croissants and other breakfast staples. They even had a mean Cafe au Lait which bolstered me to explore the French Quarter. This tiled sign is remnant of pre feminist days. No, it is not enforced now.

Via Colori

Via Colori - Nov 20, 2010

In the heart of downtown, a day filled with colours and fun. A constrained display of talent as much for fun as it was for charity. I took a walk with friends and took in the hues and sights. This is one of my favourite pictures of the day.

A file cabinet, if you will

Living in a city does not make it home. Learning its nuances gets you a step closer. Feeling what it's feeling probably clinches the deal.
                                    - Said by me

Ask anyone about Houston and you will always hear about its expanse. How big it is, how everything is bigger in Texas and how diverse it is. But therein lies the challenge.

Chuckles and I have been going about discovering Houston very differently. He likes the nature parks, the arboretum, long walks, the cars. I like witnessing the different cultural activities, the various communities, the warm summer months, the McMansions, just driving around.

So from this day forward, this blog will honour that and give the many pictures a space - to rest, to go back and rediscover and when we leave this country, this will serve as a reminder to everything we experienced. Be prepared to find restaurants, reviews, happenings, quaint observations, glance and be missed moments and anything else in the next few years that catches our fancy.

Hop on board and good luck!
